Maddie Ragan is an American filmmaker, writer, director, producer, visual artist, and musician. She holds an A.A. in music and a B.A. in motion picture. Some of Maddie’s short films include 11:34 (Audience Choice Award, Made in Arkansas Film Festival, 2020) and A Fleeting Moment (Best Production Design, LA Independent Film Fest, 2024).

Currently pursuing an MFA in filmmaking at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Maddie also teaches undergraduate courses in film production. She is in post-production on the feature film There Should Be Flowers, which she directed and served as director of photography for in the summer of 2024. Maddie is also the writer and director of Seeking Rapture, an upcoming feature film set to begin production in summer 2025.

Known for her collaborative and intuitive approach, Maddie values the intrinsic nature of imagination in filmmaking. A passionate advocate for working with actors, she leads by example and ensures performances are grounded in authenticity. Through her work, Maddie has a deep passion for exploring the complexities that accompany the human experience. There is no place Maddie would rather be than on set, immersed in the environment of stories being brought to life.
